Our original plan was to live in our current house while the new one was being built, then sell the current house and move directly into the new one. But this would have uprooted our daughters from their high school because the new land is in a different county. So we postponed our plans until both girls were in college.
Consequently, we've now sold our house and the new one isn't built, so we must find rental housing during the construction project. Yes, we'll move our stuff twice.
We located a suitable rental house only a mile from our current house. Nothing fancy, but it will be fine for five months. We can start moving in on August 1.
We moved into the rental house on Saturday, August 14. Our neighbors and the new owners of our former house came to the rescue with a burst of activity to transport the last few dozen boxes. Thanks, friends!
Much of the rental house is set up and liveable. We use a den for our living room, and the actual front living room is devoted to storage.
